Blackfinch Energy acquires UK solar project from Enviromena

Blackfinch Energy, part of UK investment firm Blackfinch Group, has acquired the 25 MW Three Maids Hill solar farm development in Winchester, Hampshire from solar developer Enviromena.

Published: June 01, 2022

Three Maids Hill is currently under construction and expected to begin commercial operation from the summer of 2022.

Enviromena secured planning approval for Three Maids Hill in May 2021, signed an exclusivity deal with Blackfinch, and then raised £11.1 million from Close Brothers Leasing UK in July to finance the project’s construction.

Three Maids Hill is now the largest solar power plant in Blackfinch Energy’s portfolio, which now encompasses 96.5 MW of ground-mounted and rooftop solar PV, as well as onshore wind projects in operation, under construction and development.

“We are delighted to have acquired Three Maids Solar Farm, another significant solar asset, that continues our strategy of investing in high quality renewable energy projects,” commented Guy Lavarack, Investment Director at Blackfinch Energy.

“We are pleased to be working with Enviromena who will be a long-term partner for us in relation to this asset.”

Blackfinch was advised on the transaction by TLT LLP and The Renewables Consulting Group Ltd.
