Enviromena, one of the UK’s leading green energy firms, was awarded “Highly Commended” in the FastTrack Company of the Year category at last night’s prestigious UK Green Business Awards, which took place at The Brewery in Farringdon, London.
The awards’ 27 categories highlight the most exciting, inspiring and innovative companies, projects and campaigns operating in the UK today, while rewarding the many organisations that are striving to build an economy that is sustainable, healthier and more prosperous for all.
“We are thrilled to be recognised as Highly Commended in the FastTrack Company of the Year category at these prestigious awards,” said Chris Marsh, CEO at Enviromena.
“This award is for green companies that are expanding at a rapid rate and disrupting their sectors in pursuing both environmental and commercial gains. Importantly, the judges were looking for businesses that are not just growing fast but are delivering innovative green products and business models that can help accelerate the wider net zero transition.
“Enviromena is dedicated to leading the transition to a world powered by clean energy by providing safe, affordable and reliable clean energy solutions to customers across the UK and Europe. This is evident in our pioneering deal with the University of Manchester to provide 65% of its electricity demand through solar power generated from Enviromena’s 70MW project in Medebridge. Also, our Horsey Levels solar project in Somerset has made history by being the first renewable project in the country to be energised several years ahead of schedule as part of the Technical Limits programme rolled out by National Grid.
“We were up against some very serious competition and we are incredibly proud that our rapid growth and ambitious plans have been recognised by the industry.”
The UK Green Business Awards provides a unique opportunity to highlight the many ways in which the green economy is at the heart of modern Britain and is core to the country’s future prospects. Last night’s gala awards ceremony brought together more than 600 leading executives, investors, business leaders and campaigners.
