Enviromena, a leading independent power producer, is proud to support the Red Sky Ball charity event by donating four tickets to allow truly inspirational individuals to attend—including a man who recently survived a sudden cardiac arrest and the hero who saved his life.
Garry was in a nightclub when he suffered a cardiac arrest—a condition that only 10% of people survive outside of a hospital. His heart stopped beating, and he was unable to breathe for himself.
Thankfully, due to the quick actions of Paul Nicholson, who immediately began CPR, and the presence of a Red Sky Foundation defibrillator, Garry was given a fighting chance.
After 31 shocks and 28 minutes without a heartbeat, Garry miraculously pulled through. He has had a defibrillator and pacemaker fitted and is now beginning his long road to recovery.
To honour both Garry and Paul, Enviromena is sending them to the Red Sky Ball—a prestigious event raising funds to provide life-saving defibrillators, cardiac equipment, and patient support across the UK.
The donation forms part of Enviromena’s wider commitment to working with Red Sky Foundation, a charity founded by Sergio Petrucci MBE after his own daughter underwent life-saving heart surgery.
Since its launch in 2020, the foundation has raised more than £2 million to fund cutting-edge cardiac care, install defibrillators in public spaces, and provide CPR training in communities.
Lee Adams, Chief Commercial Officer at Enviromena, commented: “Stories like Garry’s are exactly why defibrillators and CPR training are so vital.
“Without Paul’s quick thinking and the presence of a Red Sky Foundation defibrillator, this could have been a very different story.
“Enviromena is incredibly proud to support this life-saving charity—not just by donating tickets to the Red Sky Ball, but by working closely with Red Sky Foundation to install more defibrillators in communities across the UK.”
Alongside Garry and Paul, Enviromena has also donated tickets to Lindsay Male, an NHS Cardiac Physiologist who not only helps diagnose heart conditions as part of her job but also raises money for Red Sky Foundation in her spare time to help install public access defibrillators.
Enviromena’s partnership with Red Sky Foundation goes beyond a single donation. The company has pledged to fund more defibrillators for communities across the UK, ensuring that more people like Garry have a fighting chance in an emergency.
The Red Sky Ball is the foundation’s flagship fundraising event, with previous years raising over £100,000 to support cardiac patients and their families.
This year’s event promises to be even bigger, featuring performances from West End stars and an auction to fund more vital equipment.
Sergio Petrucci MBE, founder of Red Sky Foundation, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to partner with Enviromena. Their commitment to supporting life-saving initiatives aligns perfectly with our mission to keep hearts beating stronger, now and for future generations.”
