Leading clean energy solutions company Enviromena has appointed Chris Marsh as Chief Executive Officer.

His appointment comes after two important milestones for the business. The company has secured a major refinancing deal of £65m, which aims to support the growth of its constructed and operational UK solar portfolio to over 500MW by 2025.

The equity raise with investors Arjun Infrastructure Partners provides the Reading based company with the capital required to roll out the 2025 plan and beyond. Additionally, the business has also agreed a debt and construction facility to finance the construction of its extensive pipeline.

As Enviromena’s Chief Financial Officer for more than two and a half years, Chris worked closely with the senior management team overseeing all financial operations of the company.  Stepping up to the role of Chief Executive Officer, he will be responsible for driving the company’s growth and strategic direction.

Enviromena chairman Adrian Pike, said: “Chris and I have worked together for many years. With significant experience in the renewable sector, his appointment not only underlines our commitment to succession planning and promoting from within but also the Board’s goal of building the best leadership team in the industry.”

A chartered certified accountant, Chris Marsh joined Enviromena with a wealth of industry experience. During a 10-year spell at SSE he worked in generation, networks, telecoms and electrical contracting.  His experience encompassed renewables including the on-shore wind sector in Ireland.

Latterly he was Group Financial Controller at P2i Ltd, a global market-leading nanotechnology company based in Abingdon.

Commenting on his appointment as CEO, Chris Marsh said: “I’m delighted to be taking up this challenging new role. These are exciting times for Enviromena. We have the management team, the pipeline of new projects, and now the funds in place to deliver on our strategy for growth.”
