What was involved
Enviromena acquired the Rock Farm solar project near Ludlow, Shropshire in August 2025 from Anglo Renewables. The acquisition was handled by Enviromena’s experienced in-house legal team over a 4-month period.
Once constructed the project is forecasted to generate 47,410 MWh per annum and that will save more than 8,250 tonnes of CO2 per annum.
The site will deliver lasting environmental enhancements, including the planting of new trees, hedgerows and wildflower meadows. Together, these measures will ensure the solar farm supports local wildlife and integrates sensitively with the surrounding countryside.
In addition to the project’s strong environmental credentials, the scheme will also directly support initiatives in the local area via a community benefit fund which has been agreed with the local community.
Contract for Difference
Rock Farm is a ready-to-build project which was awarded a government-backed Contract for Difference (CfD) in allocation round 6, which provides an indexed-linked revenue stream for 15 years, and crucially protects the forecast grid connection date from the ongoing grid reforms.
Construction
Construction is due to commence in late 2025 and energisation is forecasted to take place in Q3 2026.
Management of the site
Enviromena will own and operate the site utilising the expertise of our in-house O&M and asset management teams. This includes the team carrying out performance monitoring, security monitoring, preventative / reactive maintenance, landscape management all while ensuring safety is maintained.
