Solar PV Design Manager

We are seeking a motivated and experienced technical renewable energy design professional to join our team. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for designing large scale solar PV and energy storage systems.

This position requires a deep understanding of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), ensuring the highest level of technical diligence.

The role will be predominately office based with occasional site visits.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The production of high-quality designs and specifications for solar PV and BESS systems.
  • Review and approve our development teams designs, schematics, and layouts, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards, and regulations.
  • Coordinating and completing designs primarily using AutoCAD
  • Collaborate with project managers to align design deliverables with project timelines and budgets.
  • Provide technical guidance during the project lifecycle, from initial concept to installation and commissioning.
  • Ensure all designs meet industry standards, local regulations, and health & safety requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical queries from clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong technical knowledge of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to include design principles, components, and grid integration.
  • Strong knowledge of design software including AutoCAD and PVSyst.
  • Knowledge of SCADA and PPC’s
  • 5+ years of experience in solar PV system design and engineering.
  • HV/LV connection knowledge
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC, BS EN).
  • Maintaining documentation accurately and updating QMS.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full, valid UK driving license.
  • The ability to work in the UK.
  • A degree in Renewables/Electrical Engineering is desirable.
  • Principal Designer Certificate.

O&M Technician

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Solar O&M Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing solar power systems on-site. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to respond to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. You will be provided with training and guidance to progress your professional development.

This role will be site based, so will likely involve working away from home Monday to Friday, as our sites are nationwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compliance with all Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Diagnose and repair faults within solar PV systems, electrical systems, and associated equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance as per the site maintenance schedules.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests to address equipment failure and minimise site downtime.
  • Compile detailed reports on maintenance activities, repairs, and troubleshooting results.
  • Ensure that all equipment on site is running efficiently and safely, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assist with the commissioning of new solar PV systems.
  • Conduct scheduled monthly inspections and ensure a safe working environment.

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

Labourer

We are looking for a reliable, hard-working and conscientious labourer to join our solar Operations & Maintenance team and provide assistance to them on site. The successful candidate will assist with various tasks around the site, including lifting, basic repairs, grounds maintenance, and general labouring duties. The role requires the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

This role will be site based and will involve working away from home Monday to Friday, as our sites are nationwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compliance with all Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conducting general repairs and maintenance on site infrastructure.
  • Undertaking basic maintenance of solar systems under supervision.
  • Maintaining vegetation control and clearing areas around solar arrays, adhering to safe working practices
  • Operating machinery such as strimmer’s, leaf blowers, brush cutters (training provided), and hand tools as required.
  • Maintaining site security and safety by repairing and maintaining fences and gates.
  • Completing mandatory training and obtaining the necessary certification, if not already held.
  • Driving a company van for the transportation of tools, equipment, and materials to and from site. Not for private use.
  • Towing trailers as necessary to support site operations.

Head of Grid

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Head of Grid to join our team. The Head of Grid will be responsible for managing and optimizing the interface between our renewable energy generation assets and the national electricity grid. This role requires expertise in grid systems, operational performance, and regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on ensuring efficient and reliable grid connection, grid balancing, and power distribution.

The Head of Grid will work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and industry regulators to ensure smooth operations, minimize downtime, and maximize energy flow from renewable assets into the grid.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring grid connection reforms and changes to grid connection process as well as communicating these to the wider development team.
  • Helping to identify new project leads and working with various teams until the lead progresses into an active project.
  • Submitting formal grid connection applications.
  • Designing, specifying, and budgeting for substation and grid infrastructure equipment needed for project connections.
  • Evaluate and analyse grid connection and ICP offers.
  • Mentoring and sharing knowledge with less experienced team members.
  • Maintaining and establishing relationships with industry bodies and system operators.
  • Collaborating with ICPs and other relevant technical partners.
  • Optimize grid connection costs throughout the development process.
  • Identifying risks and opportunities for cost and timeline improvements.
  • Reviewing technical standards and policy documents, implementing design and process improvements where needed.
  • Acting as the primary grid design expert, offering support throughout project development and construction phases.
  • Assisting with transaction due diligence, addressing grid-related queries.
  • Liaising with network operators to ensure project progress and compliance with procedural and technical requirements.

Asset Manager

The Asset Manager will play a critical role in maximising the performance, reliability, and profitability of Enviromena’s solar energy portfolio. This role requires a deep understanding of solar plant operations, financial analysis, and stakeholder management. The Asset Manager will ensure that the assets operate at peak efficiency, comply with all regulatory requirements, and achieve the company’s financial and sustainability goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Financial Management

  • Track, report, and troubleshoot asset financial performance, including revenue generation, operating costs, and profitability.
  • Administer offtake contracts (e.g. PPA, cPPA, CfD), ensuring compliance with contracts and notifying when fixed term contracts are due to expire.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team on budgets, forecasts, and financial models for assigned assets.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high performance standards.
  • Ensure insurance policies are in place and maintained for operational sites, managing insurance claims when required.

Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate operational and financial risks associated with the solar asset portfolio.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions or underperformance.

Operational Oversight

  • Monitor the performance of our solar assets to ensure optimal energy production and efficiency.
  • Observe operations and maintenance (O&M) activities, ensuring in-house and external O&M teams are working to resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement performance improvement plans in collaboration with O&M providers and other stakeholders.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with all contractual, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with legal and regulatory teams to address compliance issues or disputes.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior management and off-takers regarding asset performance.
  • Build and leverage vendor relationships, including O&M providers, consultants, and contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, business administration, or a related field; master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in asset management, renewable energy, or a similar role, with a focus on solar energy preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of solar energy technologies, plant operations, and performance metrics.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Fundraising and Capital Strategy

  • Lead capital raising efforts through equity, debt, and project finance to fund the development, construction, and operation of solar assets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions to secure the necessary financing for projects.
  • Develop creative and efficient financial structures for new projects, working closely with legal and technical teams.
  • Provide financial leadership in negotiations for power purchase agreements (PPAs), tax equity financing, and joint ventures when necessary.

Financial Leadership and Strategy

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy, aligning it with business goals and growth plans.
