Enviromena celebrates hat-trick of award finals

Clean energy company Enviromena is celebrating reaching the final of a third award category.

Reading-based Enviromena, which is developing and constructing renewable energy projects in both the UK and Italy, has been shortlisted in the British Renewable Energy Awards “Project” category. Its submission was based on a history-making moment when Enviromena switched on the UK’s first accelerated solar project, Horsey Levels, in Bridgwater, Somerset earlier this year that will provide clean power to 10,000 homes and avoid over 5,000 tonnes of Co2 emissions per year.

The news follows Enviromena being named as a finalist in the Great British Business Awards in the “Outstanding Contribution to the Community” category, for providing much-needed equipment for a local playpark, as well as donating thousands of pounds worth of funding to charities and community organisations around the UK.

This latest round of finalist places adds to Enviromena’s recently-announced shortlisting in the ‘Fast Track Company of the Year’ category in this year’s prestigious UK Green Business Awards – bringing the total number of finalist placements to three.

The winners will be announced at glittering events happening throughout April and June, and Enviromena’s CEO, Chris Marsh, is thrilled with the result.

He said: “Enviromena’s ethos is about creating sustainable infrastructure that will build a cleaner future, so to secure three finalist places in recognition of our work is a fantastic achievement.”

“Not only are we are committed to leading the transition to a world powered by clean energy, we’re passionate about supporting the communities in which we operate to create a legacy that enables projects and communities to thrive.”

Enviromena’s European operation began trading in 2018 from a small office in Grazeley with two employees, an early-stage pipeline of projects in Italy and the ambition to build a portfolio of solar farms across the UK.

Today Enviromena has one of the largest footprints of clean energy projects in the UK.

It has installed more than 17,000 solar systems, and currently has more than 250MWp under management. The company has a further 2.3GW in construction and development across the UK and Italy, where it has an office in Rome.

The Great British Business Awards recognises and celebrates teams and individuals going above and beyond in their chosen field, while raising money for charity or supporting community initiative. Winners are revealed on Thursday 18th April at a Gala Dinner and Ceremony taking place at the Hilton in Reading.

The UK Green Business Awards offer a unique opportunity to highlight many of the organisations that are striving to build an economy that is sustainable, healthier, and more prosperous for all. The awards will take place on the evening of Wednesday 12 June at The Brewery in Farringdon, London

Similarly, the British Renewable Energy Awards honours the organisations and individuals that have made waves in the industry. Winners will be announced on 13 June at the Sheraton Grand in London’s Piccadilly.
