Once constructed, the site, located near Hull, will generate enough renewable electricity to power more than 18,000 homes and avoid approximately 8,500 tonnes of CO₂ per year – equivalent to taking around 5,700 cars off the road.

Beyond its environmental benefits, the project will deliver a significant boost to the local economy. Independent analysis estimates that Daisy Hill could generate around £32 million in gross value added (GVA) for the East Riding economy over its lifetime, supporting local employment, supply chain opportunities and new inward investment.

By producing home-grown clean power, Daisy Hill will also help strengthen UK energy security, reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels and protecting homes and businesses from global energy market volatility.

The positive planning committee outcome follows a period of active community engagement, during which Enviromena supported a range of local initiatives, including improvements at Burton Pidsea Primary School, funding for a school pantomime trip and contributions towards village enhancements in Elstronwick, such as new spring bulb planting and upgraded noticeboards.

Mark Harding, Chief Development Officer at Enviromena, said: “We’re delighted that the planning committee has voted in favour to approve Daisy Hill would like to thank the local community and East Riding of Yorkshire Council for their constructive engagement throughout the process.

“This project is a great example of how renewable energy can deliver lasting value –  strengthening the UK’s energy independence while supporting jobs, investment, and local initiatives right here in East Yorkshire.”

The site has been designed to deliver meaningful biodiversity enhancements through new native planting, hedgerow improvements and wildflower meadow creation and Enviromena’s detailed engagement on ecology matters has been commended by Natural England.

This site adds to Enviromena’s growing UK portfolio of self-developed ready to build projects following the planning consent of the 49.9MW (AC) High Barns project in Hartlepool earlier this summer.
