Approval granted for Enviromena’s first solar farm in UK

UK-based solar project developer Enviromena has secured planning approval for its first UK solar project, the 25.2 MW Three Maids Hill Solar Farm in Winchester, Hampshire.

Chairman Adrian Pike revealed Enviromena’s latest activity in the UK, as well as its plans for the wider European market.

The Three Maids Hill Solar Farm will comprise 47,088 bifacial modules, either from Trina Solar or JA Solar, across 110 acres and will generate 28 GWh of electricity per annum at full capacity.

The asset is one of two solar farms, including the 11.8 MW Cruxton development in Dorset, that is under exclusivity to Blackfinch.

Deals such as this, combined with funding from major shareholder BAE Systems, have enabled Enviromena to remain active throughout the lifecycle of solar project development and operation in the UK.

“This is another fantastic achievement for the team,” remarked Pike. “The business has successfully transitioned from a pure EPC to an International Developer, and also strengthened the whole team with some fantastic individuals.

“The progress being made in the UK is another big step forward for Enviromena, and there is further positive news coming soon.”
