The Assistant Management Accountant, Project Management, is responsible for supporting the effective and efficient delivery of the Project Management function for solar farm projects. This position reports to the Senior Finance Manager, Project Management.
RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES
- Support the Senior Finance Manager, Project Management to ensure that monthly and annual responsibilities are satisfied in line with expectations.
- Supporting transactional information e.g. purchase order & invoice processing, expenses, weekly bank reconciliations.
- Take ownership of the preparation of monthly management accounts for the Enviromena Group.
- Assist in preparation and posting of monthly journals (eg prepayments & accruals).
- Assist in the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist the annual tax, accounting, and audit year-end processes.
- Assist in execution of activities detailed on monthly to-do lists (eg VAT returns, CIS returns)
- Support in the preparation of annual statutory accounts for the Group.
- Assist in monthly/ quarterly project meetings- Business development, ‘EPC’ projects & ‘O&M’ sites.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support to the finance team and other departments.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential experience
- Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with experience of managing competing workloads
- High attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and time management.
- Proactive and positive ‘can-do’ attitude/willingness to learn
Desirable experience
- Previous experience of working in Renewables
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV software.
- Statutory accounting experience.
- Working knowledge in preparing consolidated financial statements
- Understanding of group structures/intercompany arrangements and debt.
Qualifications
- AAT qualified or equivalent; looking to study towards ACCA or CIMA.
- Training in relevant management and cost accounting principles.
