Enviromena appoints new senior leader for large scale solar projects

Enviromena has appointed Gary Saunders as the new Head of Technical Services to lead and to develop the company’s growing portfolio of solar projects. Gary will be based in the Company’s Grazeley headquarters near Reading.

Gary brings with him extensive experience in the renewables sector, having previously worked at top 100 cleantech company, Anesco, for 10 years, 8 of which he spent heading up the Operations and Maintenance department before moving into Design and Technical.

While at Anesco, Gary grew the solar portfolio to over 22 thousand domestic properties and 150 ground mount sites. He was also part of the design team which installed the first co-located battery in the UK and worked on contractual negotiations for over 370MW of solar and battery storage sites in the UK and Europe.

Enviromena’s Chief Executive Officer, Cabell Fisher, said Gary’s appointment will be a huge asset to the team.

He said: “We are delighted to welcome Gary to the team – especially at this crucial time in Enviromena’s exponential-growth phase and as renewable energy solutions become widely-considered alternatives to costlier sources of energy in the UK and broader European markets.

“Gary will be leading the design of Enviromena’s large-scale projects, SCADA systems and PPCs. His previous experience in leading and growing projects of this nature will be a great fit for the role.”

Speaking on his new position, Gary Saunders, said: “I’m hugely excited to be working with Enviromena. This is a great time to be joining as the company continues along its path of expansion and growth. There are many exciting projects in the pipeline and I am looking forward to being a part of them.”
