The agreement, which comes around a month after the financial close on another Shropshire site, Steeraway, represents the latest milestone in Enviromena’s ongoing partnership with Close Brothers and will enable construction to progress on the fully consented 40MW (AC) project.
Once operational, Rock Farm will generate approximately 47,500MWh of clean electricity each year – enough to power more than 16,000 UK homes.
The project, acquired by Enviromena in August 2025, is backed by a Contract for Difference (CfD) awarded in Allocation Round 6, which underpins its long-term revenue profile through indexed-linked government support for 15 years. The CfD contract also safeguards the projects forecasted grid connection timeline amidst ongoing grid reforms.
In addition to clean energy generation, the approved plans include a range of environmental enhancements designed to integrate the project sensitively into the surrounding rural landscape.
These include new hedgerow and tree planting, wildflower meadows, and continued agricultural use of the land, alongside the establishment of a community benefit fund to support local initiatives.
Enviromena CEO Chris Marsh said:“Reaching financial close on Rock Farm is another important step forward for Enviromena as we continue to deliver high-quality solar and storage projects across the UK.
“Our continued partnership with Close Brothers’ Energy team is instrumental in bringing strategically important renewable infrastructure projects to market, supporting energy security, decarbonisation and long-term environmental value.”
Richie Kidd, Head of Deal Execution for the Energy team at Close Brothers, added:
“We are pleased to support Enviromena once again, building on our successful collaboration across multiple solar projects.
“Rock Farm is a strong example of how well-structured solar and storage projects can deliver reliable, low-carbon power while creating positive outcomes for local communities and the wider energy system.”
