Leading clean energy solutions company, Enviromena, proudly celebrates the success of its Horsey Levels solar farm in winning the Networks and Connections Award at last week’s Solar & Storage Live Awards in Birmingham. The accolade was awarded to National Grid for its crucial contribution in advancing sustainable energy solutions in the UK.
Horsey Levels in Somerset made history as the first solar project to be energised following changes introduced by National Grid Electricity Distribution last year to accelerate connections. The site was developed, constructed, and is now operated by Enviromena.
The Solar & Storage Live Awards shine a light on the many inspiring organisations that are striving to build an economy that is sustainable, healthier and more prosperous for all.
Enviromena is actively developing renewable energy projects in both the UK and Italy and the team is thrilled with this latest win. Chief Operating Officer, Gary Hales, said: “We are delighted that Horsey Levels has won this prestigious award which acknowledges the significant contributions that Enviromena has made to clean energy production in the UK.
“Our Horsey Levels project was the first in the UK to be energised ahead of its original connection date under the National Grid’s Technical Limits program. This innovative solution between generators and the National Grid has accelerated project connection dates across the UK, some by more than ten years.
“This recognition highlights the creativity and teamwork of our exceptional team, and I am extremely proud that Horsey Levels solar farm has been recognised as a ground-breaking initiative.”
The Solar & Storage Live Awards offer a unique opportunity to highlight some of the most exciting, inspiring and innovative companies, projects and campaigns operating in the UK today, while rewarding the many organisations that are spearheading the revolution towards a greener future.
