What was involved

Enviromena acquired the Longpasture Solar Farm project near Darlington, Durham in August 2025 from Bluefield Solar and Lightrock Power. The acquisition was handled by Enviromena’s experienced in-house commercial and legal teams over a 4-month period.

Once constructed the project is forecasted to generate 67,730 MWh per annum and that will save more than 11,845 tonnes of CO2 per annum.

In addition to delivering clean power, the site will deliver lasting environmental enhancements, including the planting of new trees, hedgerows, wildflower meadows and ecological mitigation areas.

As part of the deal, all three partners have made a binding commitment to establish a £100,000 Community Benefit Fund, ensuring that Longpasture delivers lasting value to local people alongside clean energy generation.

Contract for Difference

Longpasture is a ready-to-build project which was awarded a government-backed Contract for Difference (CfD) in allocation round 6, which provides an indexed-linked revenue stream for 15 years, and crucially protects the forecast grid connection date from the ongoing grid reforms.

Construction

Construction is due to commence in summer 2026 and energisation is forecasted to take place in Q4 2027.

Management of the site

Enviromena will own and operate the site utilising the expertise of our in-house O&M and asset management teams. This includes the team carrying out performance monitoring, security monitoring, preventative / reactive maintenance, landscape management all while ensuring safety is maintained.
